As 2018 comes to a close, it’s a great time to synthesize what we’ve learned this year about being a sustainable and ethical fashion lover…. and challenge each other to do better in 2019. So, I’ve pulled together all the knowledge I have about sustainable fashion and organized it into 23 potential New Year’s resolutions that you can tackle. I would love you to read through it all, but  do not try to do it all. (At least all on January 1st.) That’s a recipe for total burnout. Instead, choose one to three of the following resolutions. Then, pretty please tell me in the comments what you’re going to try! I would love for us to keep each other accountable, swap tips and information, and support each other. It’s definitely not about perfection, but about curiosity, experimentation and exploration. So, onto an am...

Weekend Reading: How Chanel’s Exotic Skin Ban Could End Up Harming Animals

Hi readers, Last week Vanessa Friedman of The New York Times asked me why everyone keeps saying fashion is the second most polluting industry , when it’s not. And Amanda Brohman of CR Fashion Book asked me why luxury companies are dropping fur .I wrote for Vox about my feelings on the spare button that comes with some fashion purchases. Mainly, that it makes me feel inadequate . Finally, where are my Aussies at? I spoke with an Australian radio show about the situation in Bangladesh, and why the government is trying to kick out the Accord on Fire and Building Safety . Also, famous ethical fashion podcaster Kestrel Jenkins has co-founded a new sustainable fashion brand called Left Edit! And it is so cute . What EcoCult’s Most Popular Blog Posts of 2018 Say About the State of Ethical Blogging

If you’re looking for some tips and thoughts on how to increase your blog traffic and earn more money, you’re going to get that in this post. If you want some honest thoughts from me about the state of ethical blogging, you’ll get that, too. This was supposed to be just a fun little year-end round-up, to show you what you may have missed, or posts deserve a revisit. I also do these Top Ten lists every year because it’s always helpful for me to look back and refine my strategy for next year. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I saw the results. I’ll explain why below. First, I’ll explain my methodology. What I did was look in my Google Analytics for the posts that got the most traffic between January 1, 2018 and today. I excluded top posts that I wrote before 2018, to get at stuff I wrote  this year that did really well. So, here are the articles I wrote that got the most traffic in 2018: 10.
